DIBELS

Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) are a set of standardized, individually administered measures of early literacy development. They are designed to be short (one minute) fluency measures used to regularly monitor the development of pre-reading and early reading skills. (Dynamic Measurement Group, 2005) DIBELS is valuable because we can use the results for early intervention, to target the building blocks of early literacy, and focus assessments on indicators for successful reading.

At Cincinnati Christian Schools, we give DIBELS to the children in Kindergarten through the third grade. The three times measures are given in September, January and May.

Stanford 10

The eight levels of the Stanford Achievement Test measure the important learning outcomes of the curriculum from the second half of grade 1 through the end of junior high school(Harcourt). At Cincinnati Christian Schools, we administer the Stanford 10, abbreviated battery, to our first through eighth graders. The test is given in April.

Metropolitan

The Metropolitan Readiness Tests, Sixth Edition (MRT6) is part of the Metropolitan Early Childhood Assessment Program, an assessment program designed for use in Kindergarten and Grade 1. (Harcourt) Cincinnati Christian Schools gives the MRT6 to our Kindergarten students in April.
